Bounty Hunter TK4 Tracker IV Review

The Bounty Hunter TK4 Tracker IV is a step up from the Gold Digger with automatic ground tracking and a 3-mode discrimination system. At under $70, it offers remarkable value for a first proper detector and is rugged enough for outdoor use.

How It Performs

🏖 Beach
The auto ground tracking helps a little on dry sand but it won’t handle wet salt beach conditions well without manual ground balance.
🪙 Gold
Not intended for gold detecting – low frequency and concentric coil limit its effectiveness on small nuggets.
🌱 Beginners
An excellent first detector for a teenager or adult beginner. Three modes let you begin learning discrimination without overwhelming complexity.
🪙 Coins
Finds coins reliably at 4 – 5 inches in moderate soil. A solid coin shooter for parks and gardens.
🏹 Relics
Can locate larger iron relics but without target ID you’ll dig a lot of junk. Not ideal for serious relic hunters.
