Our Mission

We started Detectorist World because the UK detecting community deserved better — better reviews that test what really matters in real soil, a directory you can trust, and clear guidance on the laws and codes of conduct.

Every detector review is hands-on. Every club listing has been checked. Every FLO record is sourced direct from the Portable Antiquities Scheme. If we don’t know something, we’ll tell you.

Every review is written by detectorists, not marketers. We buy or borrow the kit and test it in real conditions.

Up to date

We re-test detectors as firmware and accessories change, and review every directory listing yearly.

Community-led

Clubs, FLOs and suppliers can claim and update their own listings — this site gets better as the community contributes.
