Garrett AT Max Review Review

The Garrett AT Max improves on the AT Pro with built-in Bluetooth wireless audio via the Z-Lynk system, a slightly lower frequency of 13.6 kHz, and enhanced iron discrimination. It maintains the same beloved AT form factor with the added convenience of wireless headphones.

Is This Detector Right For You?

🏖 At the Beach
Excellent wet beach performer. Same 3m submersibility as AT Pro with improved iron filtering useful for heavily littered beaches.
🪙 Chasing Gold
13.6 kHz is marginally less sensitive to small gold than the AT Pro’s 15 kHz. Not a meaningful practical difference.
🌱 Just Starting Out
More suitable for intermediate users who appreciate the wireless audio convenience. Too much machine for a true beginner.
🪙 Coin Shooting
Very capable coin hunter, particularly in mid-mineralized soil. Wireless audio reduces fatigue on long detecting sessions.
🏹 Relic Hunting
Excellent for relic hunting. The enhanced iron audio setting helps categorise iron vs non-ferrous targets in mixed-period sites.
